Facebook recently rolled out a new analytics tool that is posed to give companies more insight into their customers, that is, if they are using messenger bots to communicate with them. The new bots analytics tool is made specifically to be used with the analytics tools for the Facebook app for smartphone and its web analytics tool for user that are accessing their profile on their laptop. When companies take the three analytics tools altogether, they can better segment their customers and create more customized marketing messages.
The messenger bots aggregates data so that a company sending the bots message will be able to determine how their customers are interacting with the messages they are sending. In a sense, it is a lot like an email marketing tracking tool where marketers can determine which messages are the most effective (read: has a high click-through rate), and which ones are bombers or messages that made a customer opt out of the bot messages. The analytics tool is not tied to a specific profile. “Aggregate” means that the social media giant will gather the data of the profiles doing the same specific action within messenger, for example, the analytics tool may show that women of a particular age group clicked on a specific message more than others belonging to a different set of demographics.
Marketers are seeing messenger bots tracking as Facebook’s most powerful tool to date. It is not, however, the only tracking tool there is for Facebook messenger. There are third-party tools that bots developers can use. However, it only makes sense for developers to recommend Facebook’s analytics tools. For one thing, it is free and anyone or developer can use it and it is relatively comprehensive.
