The Kredit Koncepts Credit Academy's "Credit Education Program" (C.E.P.) will educate students about personal credit, identity theft, budgeting, and personal finance. The pilot program will educate students on how to capture the power of positive credit and avoid the pitfalls of credit neglect.
C.E.P. courses will be offered to high school students as part of a curriculum for the academic year. Credit experts lead all courses. Once a student completes the program, they will be awarded a Credit Course Certificate of Completion. This involves passing all chapter quizzes and the final exam. Graduates will also be awarded an annual credit protection membership and $1 million in identity theft insurance. Top performing students will receive a $1,500 Unsecured Line of Credit with 0% interest and positive credit reporting.
One highlight of the pilot program is the integration with the Kid Kredit platform. Kid Kredit Inc., a New York based Credit Protection Firm backed by a 12 year CEO name Preston K. Luzunaris and BusyKid have partnered to collaborate on reaching children and young adults with Identity Theft Protection and Financial Education. Kid Kredit provides access to a premium "Money Management Software". Students receive access to the BusyKid app through Kid Kredit which helps them learn the value of work and financial responsibility.
New Visions Charter High School for the Humanities is New York's top charter school. They have a top graduation rate of 98.6 percent.
"My goal is to make sure every child is prepared to enter a credit-driven society," said Magaly Hicks, principal of New Visions. "The Kredit Koncepts Credit Academy provides credit education and resources for my kids to succeed."
Guidance Director Stephanie Massiah said, "Many parents are concerned with their children's identity being compromised. They feel that their personal information is at risk using social media. The storage of personal information by technology companies may lead to identity theft. Children need credit protection and financial education as part of their preparation for life beyond high school. Finally, there is a curriculum that addresses these issues," she said.
Kredit Koncepts is the first credit firm to put in place such a curriculum in New York City high schools.
"In America's urban communities, financial education is not readily available. This causes many young people to make mistakes that result in irreparable credit histories. Many end up with bad credit profiles before the age of 25". Quincy Luzunaris, owner and founder of Kredit Koncepts. "Our mission is to empower young people with credit knowledge and practical application of credit tools. This will foster a better economic future for many students."
