-- Orrin “Checkmate” Hudson, a celebrated chess champion, Air Force veteran, former State Trooper, and author of One Move at a Time: How to Win at Chess and Life, is hosting a free Chess & Life Strategy Event on Friday, August 22, from 4–6 PM at 750 17th Ave., Longmont, CO. This family-friendly event is open to all ages, regardless of chess experience.
Hudson, who has trained over 100,000 youth and adults, uses chess as a powerful tool to teach critical thinking, problem-solving, and peaceful conflict resolution. His transformative work has been featured on prominent platforms such as CNN, FOX & Friends, and Good Morning America, and he is a recipient of President George H.W. Bush’s Points of Light Award.
