Among the esteemed attendees were national, provincial, and municipal government officials, academics from top universities, leading business pioneers, revered religious leaders, celebrated media figures, and humanitarian champions — all united under a shared vision for social impact and sustainable progress in South Africa.
The evening was a profound tribute to the spirit of collaboration and excellence in community development. Sandile Hlayisi Chairperson of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers and host of the Community Development Excellence Awards, set the tone with an inspiring message:

The Community Development Excellence Awards recognizes those who significantly contributed to education, healthcare, social development, media integrity, cultural preservation, and human rights.

Ndamase shared his journey of designing the now-world-renowned shirt, which was famously worn by Nelson Mandela during his release from prison. “Fashion is more than just clothing; it is a powerful tool for storytelling and cultural preservation,” Ndamase said. Another distinguished awardees was Thamsanqa Maqubela, visionary Founder of the South African Council for Graduates.
