Fairfax home care agency, Caring Hands Matter is pleased to announce the launch of the new blog section on its organizational website. Blogs are a great way to help caregivers of elderly loved ones, individuals suffering from illness and individuals who require special needs to become more informed about their circumstances while feeling connected to the caregiving community at large. The blog will cover a variety of topics related to caregiving such as caring for elderly individuals, assisted home care, caregiver tips and more. —
Home care services are becoming increasingly more necessary in the United States as the population continues to age. As certain generations age, more and more adult children will be thrust into the role of caring for their elderly parent or an individual suffering from a life-limiting illness. Elderly individuals will require different levels of care depending on their needs. Some elders will be considered more functional than others and will only require minor assistance or simply need companionship in order to alleviate feelings of isolation. Companionship care provides seniors with support of certain tasks while simultaneously providing them with a nurturing companion on a regular basis This can be referred to as more "hands-off" care and may include simple tasks such as cooking, or assisting with certain chores that have become particularly difficult due to physical requirements. Other aging seniors may require much more assistance or, "hands-on" care. These individuals will require more constant supervision and assistance with the majority of tasks of daily living (ADLs). Required daily tasks such as grooming and using the restroom could be in an individual's personalized home care plan.
Although it is not well-known, home care services can also be used to help individuals who are recovering from recent traumatic injuries or even new mothers who need assistance as they transition into their new roles. Caring Hands Matter serves the greater areas of Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. The organization holds full professional licensure and is permitted by law to provide home care services. Before providing services, a Caring Hands Matter home care specialist will provide a professional evaluation so that families and caregivers can make the best decision for themselves and their loved one.
