BWPEEK Expands Semiconductor Manufacturing Portfolio with Advanced PEEK Wafer Handling Systems

Share this news:

-- BWPEEK announces the introduction of a PEEK cassette line as part of an expansion into semiconductor manufacturing hardware. The product line includes wafer carrier components designed for use in semiconductor fabrication environments and electronics manufacturing facilities.

The cassette line incorporates static-dissipative grades of polyether ether ketone with controlled surface resistance intended for electrostatic charge dissipation during wafer handling and transfer processes. Material characteristics include controlled resistivity, low outgassing, and particle control parameters aligned with ISO 14644 cleanroom environments used in semiconductor production.

Design parameters include compatibility with semiconductor process conditions involving chemical exposure and temperature variation. Material compatibility includes use in environments involving isopropyl alcohol, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, sulfuric acid, and ammonium hydroxide during wafer cleaning and processing activities.

The cassette structure includes digital traceability features designed for integration with manufacturing execution systems and SECS/GEM communication environments. Traceability elements include resin lot identification, mold cavity identification, cumulative cleaning cycle records, and exposure time data associated with wafer processing conditions.

Application areas include wafer storage, wafer transfer operations, inspection stages, drying and cleaning processes, wet chemical processing stations, robotic vision alignment fixtures, and pre-furnace conditioning stages used in semiconductor fabrication lines.

The introduction of the cassette line forms part of BWPEEK activity related to semiconductor manufacturing hardware components and engineered polymer products used in fabrication and electronics production environments.
