Blind Label Cigar Community Newsletter Launches With Weekly Reviews, New Releases and Lounge Spotlights

-- Blind Label Cigar has launched a weekly newsletter delivering cigar reviews, new release coverage, and lounge spotlights to the cigar community.

The newsletter publishes weekly and is written for enthusiasts at every stage, from beginners exploring their first cigars to hobbyists and certified cigar sommeliers. Each edition includes independent cigar reviews, coverage of new cigar releases as they reach the market, spotlights on cigar lounges, and educational content covering cigar selection, storage, and etiquette.

Beyond the weekly edition, the company reports plans to build Blind Label Cigar into a broader online cigar community where readers can compare tasting notes, discover lounges, and track new releases in one place. The publication is positioned as a resource for readers at any experience level rather than a platform for a single segment of the hobby.

Blind Label Cigar was founded by Norm Farrar, a cigar enthusiast of four decades and a credentialed tobacconist holding CCT, CST, and CCST certifications. Known in the community as “The Cigar Fossil,” Farrar built the publication to serve readers regardless of experience level.

“I’ve logged enough smoke time to have serious opinions, but I still approach every new cigar like it’s my first,” said Farrar, founder of Blind Label Cigar. “Blind Label is about giving the cigar community one place to learn, compare notes, and find what’s worth their time — whether they’re on cigar number three or cigar number three thousand.”

“There has never been more choice on the shelf, and that is exactly when a second opinion matters,” Farrar said. “We review what is new, point people to lounges worth visiting, and keep it honest.”

The launch also comes as more of the cigar community moves online. Online retail is the fastest-growing distribution channel in the global cigar market, projected to grow at a 7.38 percent compound annual rate through 2031, according to Mordor Intelligence. The company reports the newsletter will expand over time to include additional resources, including a searchable review archive and ongoing cigar news coverage.
