Beyond operating Samui, Sukhothai, and Trat airports, Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited has built an integrated aviation ecosystem that includes ground handling, air cargo, and airline catering. By bringing these businesses together, the Group strengthens service quality and operational efficiency while advancing its commitment to sustainability through the Boutique Footprints concept.

A seamless travel experience involves far more than the flight itself. It depends on the coordinated efforts of teams across multiple businesses, from passenger and baggage handling to cargo management and inflight meal preparation. Each operation has a distinct role, yet all contribute to the same goal: delivering safe, reliable, and efficient services while making responsible use of resources.

This integrated approach reflects the vision of Dr. Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth, Founder of Bangkok Airways, who recognized the value of connecting aviation-related businesses to support long-term growth. By linking airline operations, airport management, ground handling, air cargo, and airline catering, he laid the foundation for an interconnected business model that continues to support Bangkok Airways Group today.

Building on this foundation, the Group continues to strengthen collaboration across its businesses, with Boutique Footprints reflecting its commitment to creating positive impacts through responsible operations. The concept extends beyond individual environmental initiatives to encompass the way the Group delivers services, works with business partners, supports communities, and manages its environmental responsibilities.

BFS Ground: Keeping Airline Operations Moving with Safety and Precision

Bangkok Worldwide Flight Services Co., Ltd. (BFS Ground), one of the companies under the Bangkok Flight Services (BFS) Group, supports airline operations through a comprehensive range of ground handling services. These include passenger reception and check-in, baggage handling, aircraft ramp operations, and ground support equipment for arriving and departing flights.

Behind every turnaround is a team working to coordinate multiple tasks within tight operational timelines. Precision, skilled personnel, effective communication, and strict compliance with aviation safety standards are essential to keeping operations running efficiently.

BFS Ground serves more than 80 airline customers and handles an average of over 6,600 commercial flights per month. Its operations are supported by approximately 2,100 units of ground support equipment, including more than 150 electric and hybrid vehicles and equipment units.

These capabilities demonstrate the scale and complexity of ground operations while highlighting opportunities to improve resource efficiency. The use of electric and hybrid ground support equipment also supports efforts to reduce reliance on conventional fuel-powered equipment as part of the transition toward more sustainable ground operations.

BFS Cargo: Strengthening Air Logistics Through Expertise and Efficiency

While ground handling keeps passenger and aircraft operations moving, air cargo connects businesses and markets through the movement of goods. WFSPG Cargo Co., Ltd. (BFS Cargo), part of the Bangkok Flight Services (BFS) Group, provides cargo terminal management and air freight handling services that support this essential link in the aviation supply chain.

Its operations cover general cargo as well as specialized shipments, including live animals, pharmaceuticals, and medical supplies, which require appropriate handling and storage. Maintaining cargo integrity throughout the process calls for careful coordination, operational expertise, and compliance with applicable aviation safety and cargo-handling requirements.

BFS Cargo serves more than 80 airline customers and has the capacity to handle over 565,000 tonnes of cargo annually. Supporting these operations is an evolving smart warehouse approach focused on operational excellence, continuous process improvement, and more effective workforce planning.

By improving the way people, processes, and facilities work together, these initiatives help strengthen operational efficiency and support the reliable movement of goods across global supply chains.

BAC: Delivering Quality Inflight Meals While Reducing Food Waste

Another essential part of the travel experience begins before passengers board their flights. Bangkok Air Catering Co., Ltd. (BAC), a leading airline catering service provider, manages the production and delivery of inflight meals, from ingredient sourcing and meal preparation to quality control, packaging, and delivery to aircraft.

Every stage requires careful planning and coordination to maintain food quality, hygiene, and safety while meeting the different requirements of airline customers.

In 2025, BAC produced and delivered more than 7.19 million meals to over 40 airline customers, with a maximum production capacity of 30,000 meals per day. These capabilities reflect its role in supporting airline operations through consistent service standards and the capacity to accommodate a range of catering requirements.

Beyond food quality and safety, BAC also focuses on responsible resource management, particularly food waste reduction. Planning production volumes to better match demand helps limit unnecessary food preparation, while waste segregation and appropriate handling of food scraps and residual materials support more efficient resource use.

These practices align with circular economy principles by encouraging the responsible management of materials throughout the production process. By addressing food waste at its source and improving how residual materials are managed, BAC contributes to the Group’s broader sustainability efforts through practical changes in day-to-day operations.

Synergy: Connecting Expertise to Create Greater Value

BFS Ground, BFS Cargo, and BAC each bring specialized expertise to the aviation industry. Yet their contributions extend beyond their individual operations. Together with Bangkok Airways’ airline business and airport operations, they form an interconnected ecosystem in which coordination across businesses supports the overall travel and logistics experience.

This is where synergy makes a difference. When teams, resources, and operational capabilities work together, the Group can strengthen service delivery, improve efficiency, and identify opportunities to use resources more responsibly. Each business contributes its own expertise while supporting a shared commitment to operational excellence and sustainable development.

For Bangkok Airways Group, the strength of this ecosystem lies not in any single business, but in how the different parts work together. From the moment passengers arrive at the airport to the handling of their baggage, the movement of cargo, and the preparation of inflight meals, every operation contributes to the wider system that makes air travel possible.

This collaborative approach also provides a foundation for embedding sustainability into everyday business practices. Improving operational processes, using resources more efficiently, and reducing avoidable waste are practical ways to support responsible growth while maintaining the service standards expected by passengers and business partners.

Through its Boutique Footprints concept, Bangkok Airways Group continues to pursue a business approach that connects service excellence with responsibility toward society and the environment. The aim is not simply to move people and goods from one place to another, but to create lasting value through the way its businesses operate, collaborate, and contribute to the communities they serve.

Because behind every successful flight is more than an aircraft taking off or landing. It is the collective effort of people, businesses, and shared expertise working together, and the positive impact they can create along the way.
