TJA system is a driver assistance system that assists the driver in navigating through traffic conditions in a hassle-free manner. It is considered as a semi-autonomous feature and is offered as a part of ADAS. It is considered as a modified version of ACC. In ACC, the driver's vehicle can lock onto the vehicle in front and can modulate the vehicle speed depending on the speed of the vehicle in front. The vehicle can also come to a standstill and accelerate thereafter depending on the driving style of the leading vehicle. Usually, the driver sets a pre-set distance between the two vehicles. If the vehicle in front accelerates or changes its lane, the vehicle accelerates until it has reached the pre-set distance from the leading vehicle. Unlike the ACC, which can operate at high speeds, the TJA system is limited to slow speeds. Although the operating speed of the TJA system varies from OEM to OEM, almost all vehicles equipped with TJA operate in the range of 0-60 km/h. It is considered to be a level 3 autonomous feature.
