-- The application period for the scholarship through the Blake Rubin Foundation, a foundation geared toward assisting one student each year pay for college or university, will be ending on July 1, 2019. The value of the scholarship is $1,200.
Candidates eligible to apply are High School seniors that have been accepted into a college or university already and current college students who haven’t reached their final year. The selected winner will be required to provide verification of enrollment prior to disbursement of the scholarship.
The application for the scholarship includes a 500-word essay answering the question, “What are your major accomplishments and why do you consider them accomplishments?” Applications can be submitted through the foundation’s website. One application may be submitted per candidate.
Students are encouraged to be creative and show their individuality through the essay to help the scholarship committee make their selection.
The application deadline is July 1, 2019. A winner will be selected by the end of August 2019. The winner will have two weeks to accept the scholarship or another winner will be selected. Upon confirmation, the $1,200 scholarship will be sent directly to the winner’s financial aid department.
The Foundation was founded by Blake Rubin, a photographer in Philadelphia. She understands the challenges of struggling with paying for higher education and pursuing one’s dreams. Blake desires to lessen the financial burden of paying for school of one student every year by awarding this scholarship. Her hope is that this award will make a difference in the lives of students.
