Advances in Brain Science Lead to New Supplements

Denver, CO - Research into brain function has identified several substances, both natural and created, that improve mental functions such as concentration and memory. Nootropics, also called "smart drugs," have flooded the market with claims to help those with memory-related disorders, such as ADHD and Alzheimer's, as well as those who are simply looking for better mental performance.

"As we age, brain functioning naturally slows down," said Julia Lundstrom, CEO of Simple Smart Science. "Add to that the normal stresses of everyday life, poor diet and other common factors, and it's easy to see why many people feel they aren't at their best."

Before natural supplements became popular, people looking for an edge typically turned to stimulants. Caffeine, nicotine and various other harmful substances work short-term to improve focus, but have many negative side effects, especially with long-term use.

"The best nootropics on the market now rely on natural, proven ingredients," said Lundstrom. "Consumers should make sure that any supplement they take has scientific evidence backing it up. The ingredients we use have all been clinically tested in double-blind studies and shown to be effective. We also carefully control the dosages to reflect what studies show is the optimum dose, and rely on third party testing to make sure "

Simple Smart Science recently released two new products, MindBoost Day and MindBoost Night, that are designed to work together to provide 24-hour support to improve mental functioning. "These are the only products on the market right now that support complete brain health around the clock," said Lundstrom. "Our brains work differently and have different needs during the day than during the night."

Lundstrom explained that the brain needs to rejuvenate during sleep. Increasing GABA has been proven to help people fall asleep more easily by reducing anxiety, without muscle relaxants or harmful side effects. Other ingredients such as CDP Choline (Citicoline) have been shown to improve memory and concentration. CDP Choline is thought to work by increasing dopamine receptor densities. Rhodiola Rosea, a proprietary ingredient in MindBoost products, has been shown to reduce mental fatigue with as much as 20% improvement in one study of physicians working the night shift.

"MindBoost is not a sedative," said Lundstrom, "so you don't wake up feeling drowsy or in a mind fog. Just the opposite: you feel refreshed and alert." Lundstrom also notes that the products offered by Simple Smart Science are free of artificial flavors and preservatives, gluten free, and vegan. "We really want people to feel and be their best. Nootropics are an important advancement in brain health, not just for people suffering from conditions that impair brain function, but for everyone."
