-- In a short book launch ceremony, which was attended by several renowned authors and literary enthusiasts, Dr. Kalyan Kankanala's Aana was released at Ongole. Aana is the telugu translation of Dr.Kalyan's medico-legal thriller, The Oath. The novel was released by Edara Hari Babu, a well known politician in the presence of artists and renowned authors such as Patibandla Anand Rao, Balaramaiah, Dr. V.C. Subba Rao, and Ravi Krishna. The event was chaired by Rayudu M., founder of Manasu Foundation that focuses on reviving and republishing popular Telegu literary works.
The novel was translated by Mrutunjaya Rao, who has earlier translated server popular novels in Telegu. AANA is the story of a medical doctor, who gets tangled in a crime for treating Naxalites, members of a banned outfit. It brings out the conflict between criminal law and Hippocratic oath through a Court trial. The English version of the novel has won critical acclaim.
Dr. Kalyan Kankanala is a popular legal fiction author living in Bangalore, India. His other works of legal fiction include Epidemic, Pirates of Bollywood and Dravidian. He is an IP attorney by profession.
