For the last 10 years AZ Pupusas Festival been putting together the Arizona Pupusa Festival event as a way to showcase Salvadoran food and culture! This year they are back at it once again! —
A Pupusa is the National Food of El Salvador, it is a handmade corn tortilla filled inside with your choice of filling- Traditional ones being Chicharron (Pork), Beans, Loroco (flower vine native to El Salvador). Pupusas are so popular that El Salvador declared the 2nd Sunday in November as the National Pupusas Day, but you don't have to travel to El Salvador to delight yourself with these, you can join us November 13th at the Roosevelt 16 located at 1650 E Roosevelt St, Phoenix Arizona.
The event will start off with civic ceremony with a rendition of National Anthem of El Salvador and the USA.
Various performances are scheduled throughout the day including Singer Ligia Morales (@ligia_sombreroazul). The event will be hosted by Los Angeles, Salvadoran Comedians Hoozay (@Hoozay) and Chavez Nelson (@_chaveznelson) featuring pupusas from Pupusas Transitenas (@pupusas_transitenas) Zpotesft (@zpotesft) and Salvadoreno Central ave Phoenix (@salvadorenoazcentralphx) who will be showcasing their vegan line up! At the event there will be baile folklor, Salvadoran food, drinks, artwork, games, and they will also be raising funds for a water well project alongside Club Rotario Phoenix (@clubrotariophx).
