You can do both but you have to have a primary project and a secondary project. Then you have to look for the synergies between the two and bounce back and forth,” he added.
For Derek, success only comes when a person surrounds himself with people who are always learning something new. He further advises that the real value in business and in social relationships is creating and maintaining long-term relationships that are mutually reciprocal and beneficial. When it comes to creating those relationships, a person must be ruthless in avoiding people who are short-term thinkers and looking for a transactional exchange.
