Loadcraft Industries, a renowned manufacturer of oilfield rigs, heavy haul trailers and concrete batch plants, today announced the availability of their latest offering for oil field equipment – the 550 HP Six Axle Carrier Cold weather Workover Rig.

The newest workover rig was featured at the DUG Bakken and Niobrara Conference in Denver, Colorado during May 29-31, 2013

According to the sources, it is a light weight double drum rig that is environmental friendly and has the capability to work at extremely low temperatures. Steve Lara, Director of Marketing announced, “We are pleased to confirm the availability of our latest offering - the 550 HP Six Axle Carrier Cold weather Workover rig. It has special rated steel for -40 degree Celsius with a 104’ x 250K mast.”

According to sources, the company presented the unit at a recent DUG Expo in Denver CO covering the Bakken Shale, a North Dakota region known for its extreme winters, and got a very good response. “Since the conference was focusing on the Bakken, there were many who stopped by to inquire.” Steve Lara, the Loadcraft Marketing Director added, “Lots of attendees stopped by the our exhibit specifically to talk about how the new workover rig was ideal for the conditions specific to the Bakken shale environment”.

Some additional features of the rig include 6 axles - 2 front, 4 rear, Kobelt Twin disc brakes, 104 foot 250K mast and a “cold weather package.” The cold weather packagin includes 3000 AMP cranking capacity, a pro-heat engine heater, insulated engine enclosure and battery box and a 120V engine probe.

When contacted, Gary Weatherman, Executive VP of Sales and Engineering for Loadcraft Industries, Ltd., “It’s built specifically for that market (Bakken) and at present there’s not one like it up there. We have the engineering, craftsmanship and the product. Things are getting very positive as we wait for the response of the first three that have just hit the road.”

Loadcraft has validation of the desirability of this type of workover solution having already sold three units of the rig this past year and with increased visibility in the market thanks to the exposure at the DUG conference and previous OTC 2013.

Additionally there are environment friendly features, the rig also boasts of self contained Twin Drum Brake Cooling that prevents environmental contamination. If experts of the field are to be believed, the same is likely to make the rig a lot more attractive in a few areas like the Bakken.
