To encourage local businesses to get their brand online, Vodien Internet Solutions is offering free — domain registration for .sg and .com.sg domain names. Singapore-based enterprises can register a domain name for a year free of charge when they sign up for a new web hosting account with Vodien.
Vodien, one of Singapore’s fastest growing web hosting companies, supports the Small and Medium Enterprises Domain Name Reservation scheme. This initiative provides subsidy for the first domain name registration of new and existing businesses without their own domain. The subsidy can be availed by SMEs registered with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA). The promotion was launched in January 2011. For businesses to take advantage of this, they must reserve their desired domain with ACRA and activate it within 90 days upon reservation.
The scheme is part of the Infocomm@SME program, which aims to enhance productivity, raise competitiveness and expand market reach of local enterprises. It’s a collaboration among ACRA, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore and the Singapore Network Information Center.
Vodien caters to a wide range of clients including small and medium enterprises. Aside from domain name registration, the company has a selection of web hosting plans that meet the varying needs of businesses. SMEs can choose from various managed hosting and cloud hosting packages, and see which hosting plan fits their requirements and budget.
Vodien guarantees 99.9 percent uptime and a six-hour resolution time for all web hosting problems and issues. It also provides 24/7 customer support and a responsive client support staff. These are aimed at enabling SMEs to register domain names, and build a strong and consistent brand online.
