Toronto, Canada, May 13, 2015 – Venture Computers of Canada, Inc. ( — www.Venture.ca), Toronto’s leading provider of IT support, hardware, and software sales services and consulting, is reacting to the Internet economy becoming a more significant factor in Canada’s GDP.
Tony Clement, the president of Canada’s Treasury Board, recently said that “data is Canada’s new natural resource,” with the Internet continuing to significantly contribute to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). “We’re talking about the Internet economy making up three to four percent of the national GDP,” says Harris Tan, owner of Venture Computers of Canada, Inc. “And with cloud adoption rates among small businesses growing dramatically year over year, it’s clear where the future is heading.”
A recent article by Tech Vibes lists flexibility and the relative low cost of cloud software, which negates the need to invest in any physical hardware, as key reasons for these high adoption rates.
“Small businesses are actually adopting at twice the rate of other adopters,” Tan continues. “They see the most value in cloud computing and data storage for their organizations. Especially when it comes to the cost savings and scalability of cloud computing, small businesses are benefiting the most.”
Some small businesses in Canada have been reluctant to make the shift to cloud, citing the security concerns, particularly with the U.S. Patriot Act, as reason for their hesitation. The need for keeping sensitive and private data within Canadian borders is spurring this concern. But improvements in cloud security have been encouraging.
“I think businesses need to understand that security is an ongoing concern. A lot of the worry surrounding cloud security is in who will be privy to the information, not exactly about being hacked. So once those laws are in place to guide who is allowed to see what, then a lot of the concern will disappear,” concludes Tan.
Venture Computers of Canada, Inc. offers cloud consulting and implementation services to small businesses in Toronto. They have successfully been able to help many small businesses in the GTA adopt their operations to cloud, which has resulted in better service and increased cost savings.
