-- April 16, 2026 - Morad Shaker, a U.S.-based philanthropist and founder of the Shaker Global Poverty Reduction Ecosystem, has announced the expansion of humanitarian access to Thailand under Operation Bangladesh, a flagship initiative originally developed to support under-served communities in Bangladesh and now being extended to selected countries across Asia.

Currently spending time in Thailand as a visitor, Morad Shaker has developed a strong appreciation for the country and its people, particularly their work ethic, humility, and sense of community. Over recent months, he has observed not only the resilience and dignity present across Thai society, but also the genuine way in which people value opportunities and show care and respect toward those who support them—an experience that created a deeper personal connection and contributed to his decision to extend access to this global humanitarian framework.

The expansion of Operation Bangladesh into Thailand marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the Shaker Global Poverty Reduction Program, an international initiative designed to support vulnerable populations through structured, non-commercial, and globally accessible systems.

Originally created with a focused mission in Bangladesh, Operation Bangladesh represents one of the foundational programs within the ecosystem. As the broader initiative evolves, key components of Operation Bangladesh are now being introduced to communities beyond their original geographic scope, including Thailand and other parts of Asia.

At the center of this initiative is a global humanitarian petition system, first developed under Operation Bangladesh to capture grassroots needs and perspectives. This system allows individuals and communities to express interest, share challenges, and seek inclusion in future humanitarian support structures.

Through this platform, individuals in Thailand may submit petitions not only for themselves but also on behalf of families, communities, villages, cities and broader population groups. The system is designed to respectfully amplify voices while maintaining a strictly humanitarian, non-political, and non-religious approach.

“This is not about bringing a program into Thailand,” said Morad Shaker. “This is about ensuring that people in Thailand—like people anywhere in the world—have access to a global humanitarian channel where their voices can be seen, heard, and considered.”

Morad Shaker is also the founder of the Shaker International Scholarship Programs (SISP), a U.S.-based nonprofit initiative that has been actively operating for approximately four years, primarily in Bangladesh. During this time, SISP has built a growing digital community of nearly half a million followers across its platforms and has provided forms of financial assistance and support to hundreds of students, along with multiple underprivileged families in vulnerable communities.

Much of this early community engagement and development contributed directly to the foundation and evolution of Operation Bangladesh, further strengthening its role within the Shaker Global Poverty Reduction Programs.

As part of its long-term vision, the Shaker Global Poverty Reduction Programs is designed not only to support vulnerable communities but also to contribute positively to national development efforts, with the intention of working in constructive alignment with government agencies. This includes creating pathways that may support job creation, encourage responsible investment opportunities, strengthen educational institutions, assist students, and contribute to broader social stability.

“The intention is not to replace or interfere with any government,” Morad Shaker added. “The intention is to support—to stand alongside nations and contribute, in a respectful and structured way, to the shared goal of reducing hardship and expanding opportunity.”

At this stage, the expansion of Operation Bangladesh access to Thailand is being introduced as a non-commercial, humanitarian initiative, with no immediate business operations, employment activities, or financial transactions taking place within the country. During his time in Thailand, Morad Shaker has been engaging closely with the local environment and communities to better understand how meaningful and sustainable support can be developed in the future. The platform remains globally accessible, and participation is voluntary, with early engagement taking place through digital channels.

Over the past several years, Morad Shaker has been developing a broader international structure that includes humanitarian outreach, scholarship programs such as SISP, and future global emergency response capabilities. The inclusion of Thailand reflects the continued expansion of Operation Bangladesh into new regions as part of a growing global humanitarian vision.

While Operation Bangladesh was originally designed with a specific national focus, its gradual expansion reflects a broader commitment to ensuring that opportunities remain accessible wherever there is readiness, participation, and alignment with the initiative’s humanitarian principles.

“As someone who believes that serving people is a universal responsibility, I see Thailand not as a place of operation, but as a place of connection,” said Morad Shaker. “This is simply an open door—nothing more, nothing less.”

Individuals in Thailand who wish to express interest in Operation Bangladesh and the Shaker Global Poverty Reduction Programs may do so through the Shaker global petition system as the initiative continues to expand.
