Immediate drastic changes need to be made to the existing administration policies, procedures, and expenditures, especially on a new computer system.” The current Assessor is paying millions of dollars each year ($100 million has been bandied about) to Oracle Computer subcontractors on a new computer system, which is already causing disruption and delays for LA County residents, and which may never function properly. In the end, this computer system may need to be abandoned and discarded in search of other less costly technology.
