TNTI received purchase order from a customer ordering high strength Grade 5 titanium seamless Tubing, the specification of tubing is Diameter 550 x wall thickness 30x length 6000mm. Large diameter, strict Geometric tolerance, strict concentricity control makes it extremely difficult to manufacture. But TNTI has only 30 days to finish it. The success of this order not only influence the cooperation of high strength titanium alloy tubing, but also matters if TNTI will have breakthrough in alloy tubing market.
So TNTI has paied special attention to this order, build a special team for this project and required every department to support this project.
During production, technical person from TNTI has picked suitable titanium ingot, made reasonable mechanical reservation after times calculation, and tested the heat treatment temperature and soaking time many times, finally make a best manufacturing solution to ensure the alloy tubing surface requirement and straightness. After 26 days hard work, TNTI has made breakthrough of technology and equipment, and made the largest Grade 5 Seamless Titanium tubing. The product has meet customer’s requirement of dimension, surface, concentricity, corrosion test, eddy current test, mechanical test, microstructure test, ultrasonic test. It has made up the production blank in Ti-6Al-4V Seamless Tubing. Right now these alloy tubings have been transferred to the customer and approved by them.
After 28 days’ hard work ,the biggest and longest seamless titanium alloy tubing was completed, it has greatly increased large caliber thin wall tube production range and helps TNTI shift to big caliber high-end market.
From 2016,TNTI has been kept improving the technology and focus on high-end market, develop new market. The new technology has expanded TNTI’s product range, shorten its manufacturing time, conquered large caliber titanium high-end market, which make strong foundation for its company future development.
