For two years now, The Johnston Law Firm, LLC has awarded a scholarship to provide help for one full-time college student in the United States pay for a LSAT prep course. The 2017 winner was Elza Kochueva, who is currently studying Law & Society at the John Jay College, City University in New York. Kochueva plans on attending law school during the 2019 school year. The team at The Johnston Law Firm, LLC was proud to present this aspiring young person the award for 2017.The LSAT Prep Course Scholarship is an annual award designed to pay for a LSAT preparation course of the student’s choosing, or up to $1,000 toward the program, whichever amount is less. The award is given out during the spring of each year.
“We are proud to be able to offer this financial aid to a deserving law student hopeful,” stated attorney Marc Johnston. “The LSAT is a difficult and time-consuming test requiring months of preparation and study. With this award, we are hoping to ease the financial burden presented by getting into law school with this scholarship.”
When applying for law school, a person’s LSAT score is one of the most impactful factors considered. Statistics have shown prep courses help improve test speed and scores. Regardless of if a student is interested in enrolling in an online program or traditional classroom setting, the prep course can improve the odds of achieving a passing score.
“In addition to being interested in attending law school, the scholarship program has a few other requirements,” stated Johnston. “We have an application each student must complete and require a 450+ word essay outlining what the student plans to do with their law degree and how it will benefit society. Other requirements to apply for the scholarship include a resume, letters of recommendation, which are optional and an unofficial transcript.”
The next LSAT Prep Course Scholarship Winner will be announced in 2018, with the deadline for entry being April 30, 2018. Payment for the award winner is made directly to the LSAT prep program the student chooses.
