The First Asia-America-Europe Business Cooperation and Development Forum Successfully Held in Bali

On November 3, the First Asia-America-Europe Business Cooperation and Development Forum opened with great success in Bali, Indonesia. Co-hosted by the China-Asia Economic Development Association, the Beijing Yaoyang Foundation, and the Belt & Road Cultural Exchange Foundation for Women, the forum attracted over 500 distinguished guests, including political leaders, entrepreneurs, and economic scholars from Asia, America, and Europe.

With the theme “Cooperation for Development, Mutual Benefit, and Win-Win: Collaboration and Innovation among Asia-America-Europe Enterprises,” the forum aimed to explore pathways for enterprise cooperation within the global economic development landscape. Attendees engaged in wide-ranging discussions on topics such as international economic dynamics, the globalization of Chinese enterprises, artificial intelligence, bioeconomics, international trade, corporate social responsibility, and philanthropy.

Counselor Li Hongwei from the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia emphasized the deepening ties between China and Indonesia, with an upgrade in trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. He expressed China’s commitment to enhancing trade and investment cooperation with countries worldwide and building robust industry and supply chain partnerships. Former South Korean Prime Minister Lee Soo-sung noted that the forum would foster in-depth exchanges among businesses, benefiting South Korea’s economic growth and supporting its efforts to expand market access and strengthen international competitiveness through global cooperation.

Quan Shunji, President of the China-Asia Economic Development Association, highlighted the ongoing transformation of the global economic landscape, stating that the forum was designed to serve as a collaborative platform for promoting high-quality global business growth. Jiang Dan, founder of the Beijing Yaoyang Foundation, stressed that the forum is not only a bridge for business collaboration but also an important platform advocating corporate social responsibility and social harmony.

Gu Jiali, Co-Chair of the Belt & Road Cultural Exchange Foundation for Women, remarked that the Belt & Road Initiative has become a major international cooperation platform, with business collaboration as a key driver of economic growth. During the signing ceremony, the Foreign Exchange Committee of the China-Asia Economic Development Association signed cooperation agreements with China Oriental Education Group and Jiangsu Youao Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., marking new business cooperation opportunities for Chinese and Indonesian companies across various sectors.

Indonesia’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dindin Wahyudin, emphasized Indonesia's commitment to friendly cooperation with all nations and its continued participation in international affairs. He reiterated Indonesia’s commitment to the Belt & Road Initiative and strengthening economic and trade exchanges with countries along its route. Barry of the Australian Chamber of Commerce stressed the irreversibility of economic integration, noting that business growth relies on international market expansion and cooperation.

David Lee, President of the Association of Chinese Scientists and Engineers in the USA, provided an in-depth analysis on “Opportunities for Asia-America-Europe Enterprises to Collaborate in the Digital Economy,” emphasizing the importance of the digital economy. Nurul Ichwan, Indonesia’s Deputy Minister for Investment and Downstream, discussed Indonesia’s investment opportunities and business environment, highlighting its strategic geographic location, rich natural resources, and growing consumer market.

Enrico Tanuwidjaja, ASEAN Economist at Singapore’s UOB, analyzed the ASEAN region's growth under the current global economic landscape, observing strong resilience among ASEAN nations. Wu Xiaobo, Director of the Department of Social Sciences at Zhejiang University, discussed China’s role in the new era of globalization and emphasized its growing influence in global governance reforms.

Chu Jian, founder of Supcon Technology, explored globalization pathways and the application of industrial AI in process manufacturing, encouraging enterprises to embrace new technologies. Lu Yuebing, Chairman of Air Liquide (China) Investment Co., Ltd., discussed the crucial role of multinational companies in supporting the internationalization of Chinese enterprises, suggesting enhanced partnerships between Chinese enterprises and multinational corporations.

On behalf of the organizing committee, Wang Yanming, Secretary-General of the Beijing Yaoyang Foundation, awarded honorary certificates and medals to the best cooperation partners, outstanding entrepreneurs, and exemplary volunteers. Chen Jun, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the China-Asia Economic Development Association, expressed sincere gratitude to all participants and partners in his closing remarks, calling on attendees to work together to advance more substantive cooperation projects.

The forum also hosted a sub-forum titled “Belt & Road and Maritime Hubs,” which attracted numerous experts and business representatives who engaged in in-depth discussions on marine economy, sustainable development, and cultural cooperation. Additionally, the forum provided opportunities for networking and collaboration among participating companies, facilitating business connections across countries and regions.
