-- As globalization enters the deep-water zone, Chinese enterprises are transitioning from "scale expansion" to "civilization building" in their overseas ventures. In the face of the rapidly changing global economic landscape, Chinese enterprises are standing at the starting point of a new season, setting out to find new routes and directions.

On June 19, the "BORN TO BE GLOBAL" 2nd Global Summit of Chinese Enterprises Going Overseas and 2025 Mid-Year Industry Summit was held in Singapore. The summit was co-organized by Channel Wu, Jidang Business Studies, and the Sino-Commercial Overseas Industrial Alliance (SCOIA). It also received strong support from the co-organizer C&D Inc., technology partner Ant Digital Technologies, advanced team partner Feishu, brand support partners DeRUCCI and QWOS, as well as the official wine partner Juntai Houjiang Liquor.

This year's summit, under the theme "Born to be Global, Globalization and Localization", sought to empower Chinese entrepreneurs in jointly exploring a transformative journey from "Industrial Shift" to "Civilizational Coexistence".

The two-day summit focused on four key themes: "Globalization 3.0: Reverse Globalization & New Globalization," "Co-creation and Co-building: Reconstruction and Innovation of Global Supply Chain," "Escorting the Future: Multiple Ecosystems Empower Chinese Capital to Go Global," and "Collaborative Integration and Mutual Gain: Globalization is Localization." The event featured 20 keynote speeches, one high-level dialogue, a "Global Night" gala dinner, and included a week-long "Singapore+1" premium business tour.

The summit brought together economists, overseas expansion experts, and renowned entrepreneurs from various countries, who joined over a thousand business leaders from China and around the world to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing Chinese enterprises going global under new trends. The event was hosted by special guest moderator Chris Pereira, Founder and CEO of iMpact.

Renowned financial writer Wu Xiaobo delivered the opening remarks at the summit and gave a keynote speech titled "We Cannot Direct the Wind, but We Can Adjust the Sails." In his speech, he mentioned that this time, Chinese enterprises going global are fundamentally different from previous efforts. This time, it is a "comprehensive overseas expansion," with goods, technology, talent, capital, and management models all going abroad.

Dr. Wang Huiyao, founder and President of CCG, and former counselor to the State Council, offered his understanding of globalization. He believes that globalization is a process of integration across multiple dimensions, expressed through global trade, investment, and migration, which collectively shape the phenomena and order that influence the development of the world. He also emphasized that the future of China's globalization will require three pillars: human-centered globalization, open regionalism, and global coexistence and co-construction.

Dr. Wu Wei, Founding Dean, Nanyang Centre for Public Administration, delivered a keynote speech titled "Navigating Global Shifts: Opportunities in Emerging Markets" . He emphasized that when Chinese companies venture abroad, they should communicate in a way that foreigners can understand—through public relations, not preaching. They should embrace an open and inclusive mindset to accommodate diverse cultures and adopt a positive, cooperative attitude to foster deeper interactions with others.

Renowned Japanese economist and visiting researcher at the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), Toshio Tsunakawa, shared insights into the experiences and challenges Japanese companies face when expanding overseas. He pointed out that many of these challenges stem from "information asymmetry." To address this, he offered two key pieces of advice: First, avoid excessive reliance on others and instead build diverse information channels. Second, make a concerted effort to integrate into the local community and be recognized as a member. For successful integration, achieving mutual benefit is essential, and a "win-win" situation must be acknowledged by both parties, not just one.

As a leading player in the supply chain sector, C&D Inc. was invited to share its insights on using futures instruments to help global enterprises mitigate the risks of commodity price volatility in international markets.

Li Zhi, General Manager of the Futures Management Department at the Risk Control Center of C&D Inc., delivered a keynote speech titled “Proactive Risk Management: Tackling Supply Chain Black Swans.” Li Zhi highlighted the key challenges faced by Chinese enterprises going global. Drawing from historical lessons and innovative practices, he offered a systematic analysis of how futures instruments can play a critical role in stabilizing global supply chains.

Bian Zhuoqun, Vice President of Ant Group and Head of Ant DT International Business, shared how technological innovation can unlock the liquidity of real-world assets. She explained how the new tokenization paradigm—from asset verification to value transfer, and from data assets to digital transactions—will enable companies to access efficient, stable, and secure funding, while reducing operational costs and enhancing operational efficiency. Her insights attracted significant attention from the entrepreneurs in attendance.

Lin Chan, Chief Commercial Officer of Feishu, was invited to share Feishu's experience in organizational evolution overseas and how it helps companies break down the barriers of global collaboration. Lin emphasized Feishu's focus on talent, stating, "We will never delegate tasks that can be handled by tools to people, allowing employees to focus on their core business." Feishu is committed to supporting more enterprises expanding globally by enabling efficient internal collaboration.

At the event, in the presence of participants, the "Global Business Civilization Journey 2025" Launch Ceremony, jointly initiated by Yicai Media Group, Chin@Moments, and the Channel Wu, as well as the "Global Enterprises Talent Initiative" launched by the Sino-Commercial Overseas Industry Service Alliance (SCOIA), was officially set in motion.

In addition, experts including Qin Shuo (Founder of Chin@Moments), Yang Yudong (Editor-in-Chief of Yicai Media Group and China Business News), Lin Xueping (Chinese Institute for Quality Research (SJTU) Visiting Research Fellow), Liang Yutian (Professor of School of Geography and Planning, Sun Yat-sen University), Cui Hongbo (Founder & CEO of Zhengjian Brand Strategy), Huang Zhaohua (Founder of BeiJing NaviStar Consulting), and Zhuo Li (Director of Sino-Commercial Overseas Industrial Alliance) shared their latest research findings and professional insights with global business leaders in attendance.

Entrepreneur representatives including Zhang Huarong (Chairman of Huajian Group and Vice President of China-Africa Friendship Association), Geng Zengqiang (Thundersoft Co-Founder&Executive President), Shen Jin (Venture Partner of Qiming Venture Partners), and HAWK XU (Chief Transformation Officer, Lenovo Global supply chain, CEO of Leshines Supply Chain ) also shared their valuable overseas expansion experiences at the summit.

Meanwhile, representatives from government agencies and economic organizations including Kazakhstan's National Company "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC and Singapore Tourism Board also attended the conference. They presented their respective countries' industrial policies and investment opportunities, extending invitations to Chinese entrepreneurs to establish operations locally.

With the philosophy of win-win cooperation, the Channel Wu, in collaboration with overseas industry service institutions, established a one-stop community for collective overseas expansion—the Sino-Commercial Overseas Industrial Alliance (SCOIA).The alliance has formed a community of thousands of entrepreneurs, connecting service providers, experts, scholars, investors, and consulting firms to offer efficient, secure, and convenient industry services and resource connections for enterprises going global. In the future, the alliance will dedicate itself to serving entrepreneurs, business leaders, and overseas operations managers eager to expand or already conducting overseas business.
