The young dancer was just invited to be part of Team Canada for the Commonwealth World Dance Competition in South Africa, and she needs to raise funds to make that dream happen. The funds are in support of Jo-Annie's trip to South Africa in September 2017 to take part in the global competition.

Jo-Annie and her mother Chantal plan on making the trip to South Africa for the event scheduled on September 3-8, 2017. Jo-Annie is fourteen years old and has been dancing since age five. She is fully dedicated to the improvement of her skills, spending up to forty hours weekly in training, while maintaining straight As in school. Her hard work and talent have allowed her to win competition after competition. For Jo-Annie, her parents' divorce has been very hard on her and dancing has been her way to cope with the process.
According to Jo-Annie's aunt Nancy Dent, “I decided to start this fund-raising campaign on a pro-bono basis because Jo-Annie deserves to be at the Commonwealth World Dance Competition and I am confident that together we can raise the money to make this young lady's dream a reality. The competition is the pinnacle of her dance career. You can help to send her to the event where she will compete, represent Canada and bring home the Gold Medal.”
Chantal Ross, Jo-Annie's mother, is a top real estate agent and a single mom raising six children. Her budget doesn't allow for the expenses of the trip. The campaign is hoping for a total of $5,000 raised to take care of the expenditure of sending Jo-Annie and her mother to the competition. Funds must be raised by July 20, 2017.
