NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification tests technicians on their real-world knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Technicians can take tests for a number of specializations, including air conditioning, air distribution, heat pumps, gas and oil heating, commercial refrigeration, hydronics gas and oil and HVAC efficiency.
