The Soundlazer VR is a development based on their SL-01 prototype, and has already attracted over 200 backers, contributing over $60,000 of investment – almost triple the $24,000 required to create the first product run. The Soundlazer VR will be produced in overhead and desktop mini versions, connecting via Bluetooth to devices of all sizes and operating systems. The product page already has testimonials from prototype users attesting to the amazing quality of the sound produced.
The new Soundlazer VR offers a sphere of high definition audio, which isolates sound for those sitting or standing beneath the sound bar. This allows them to have a fully immersive experience without disrupting the neighbors, or even the next room. The bar removes the need for headphones, and allows people free movement within the sphere, creating stereoscopic binaural sound illusions.
A spokesperson for Soundlazer explained, “Think of the Soundlazer VR as the Virtual Reality of Sound. You can immerse yourself in an organic, floating personal cloud of sound without disturbing the people around you. This virtual sound is in a spherical area below the Soundlazer VR with audio that is over four times louder than everywhere else in the room. When you position your head in this cloud, the sound is clear, vibrant and has stereo reproduction that is only normally experienced while wearing headphones. This has excited a lot of people already, and the more pledges we receive, the more we can drive this technology forward into the marketplace. We can’t wait to see where the total ends up.”
