Seacoat SCT announced a hard film coating platform engineered to improve vessel performance, durability, and environmental compliance.

-- Seacoat SCT, a company focused on marine coatings technology, is dedicated to delivering high-performance Silane Siloxane solutions for the maritime industry. The company has made progress in developing its non-toxic coating systems to enhance operational efficiency, minimize maintenance needs, and advance long-term sustainability goals. It caters to markets including commercial shipping, military, cruise, and recreational vessels while continuously engaging in research and development to meet changing operational and regulatory requirements.

The representative of Seacoat SCT stated, “The firm is committed to fulfilling the needs of commercial marine operators with solutions that improve operational efficiency and environmental responsibility, adding that the objective is to provide coatings that reduce downtime and help keep vessels running smoothly”.

For Commercial Marine applications, Seacoat SCT’s SEA SPEED V 10 X ULTRA is a hard-film Silane Siloxane hull coating designed to replace soft duplex silicone and toxic antifouling paints. When used with Mil SPEC Seapoxy 73 marine epoxy primer for steel or aluminum hulls, it is suitable for various commercial vessels, including container ships, bulkers, and tankers. The ULTRA smooth finish has a surface roughness of less than 5 microns and low surface energy, resulting in decreased drag and improved hull efficiency, supporting IMO EEXI and CII CO2 reduction goals. Operators may achieve up to 12% improvement in power demand or fuel economy compared to traditional antifouling paints.

The representative added, “Sustainability is increasingly important across the marine industry, and Seacoat SCT designs coatings to meet strict environmental standards without compromising performance.”

Seacoat SCT further stated that the coating’s durability is intended to support reduced maintenance and fewer disruptions across operating cycles. Unlike conventional bottom paints that polish or ablate over time, SEA SPEED V 10 X ULTRA is described as a non-depleting material that can be underwater-scrubbed without coating loss or the environmental impact associated with releasing toxic cuprous oxides or biocides. The system is warranted for ten years and can be applied in newbuilding programs or retrofitted during dry docking, to reduce maintenance-related operating expenditure.

About the company: Seacoat SCT is a marine coatings technology company specializing in high-performance Silane Siloxane solutions for the maritime sector. The company serves commercial shipping, military, cruise, and pleasure vessel markets with non-toxic, environmentally safe coatings designed to improve operational efficiency, reduce maintenance requirements, and support long-term sustainability goals through continuous research and development.
