Evans Jr., Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of the National Urban League in New York City, was presented with the “Excellence in Education Award” at the Education 2.0 Conference. The event was held from April 7–9, 2026, at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, USA. The award recognizes individuals who demonstrate consistent impact in teaching and learning environments while supporting academic progress and long-term development across the educational ecosystem.
Sidney H. Evans Jr. was appointed Senior Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer of the National Urban League in New York City, May 2023. Prior to this role, he served for nine years as Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration at Morgan State University.
He is the Founder and CEO of Madisan Mackenzie, LLC, a management consulting firm established in 2009, focused on higher education and nonprofit organizations. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, CFO, and Treasurer at Howard University from 2005 to 2010. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh.
Upon receiving the award, Sidney shared, “I am truly honored and humbled to receive this award. I want to express my sincere appreciation to Education 2.0 for recognizing me.”
