Shelving Supplier Midwest Retail Services Donates Shelves To Delaware ReStore

Plain City, Ohio-based Midwest Retail Services, one of the largest, multi-brand, store fixture distributors in the country, donates shelving products to local Habitat for Humanity ReStore of Delaware and Union Counties.

-- Gondola shelving supplier Midwest Retail Services donates wire retail shelving to the ReStore location in Delaware and Union Counties. The wire shelving units are being used in the local ReStore to hold and organize items for sale in the store, which is part of Habitat for Humanity.

Midwest Retail Services was looking for a way to use its business to give back to its central Ohio community, and chose to donate to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore of Delaware and Union Counties. The company also wanted to find a way to use its retail shelving products to help the local community. By donating to a non-profit retail center that deals with the affordable housing cause, the generous donation is being put to good use by better displaying and organizing items in the ReStore.

Matt Ray, president of Midwest Retail Services, believes it is important to use the company’s biggest asset, its high-quality products, to help others.

“Since we deal with retail, finding a charity with a retail connection is a good fit for us, which is how the ReStore became the organization we decided to work with,” Ray says. “We knew our products could be really useful to the store, and the mission of helping the affordable housing cause is one we feel is important.”

This is the first time the company has donated fixtures to a non-profit, according to Ray, but he hopes they continue to make a contribution twice a year.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a store and donation center where people can donate new and gently used household goods. Those items are sold in the ReStore at a fraction of retail price, with proceeds benefiting affordable housing in the local community.

Habitat for Humanity will soon be building a home in Union County, Ohio. Proceeds from the ReStore of Delaware and Union Counties will help make it possible to build that house.

“We plan to build four to five homes this year and we couldn’t do it without ReStore donors like [Midwest],” says ReStore Director Julie Lover. “We are excited to be moving our mission forward in both Union and Delaware County!”
