SDM Software to Break New Ground In Group Policy Management at Microsoft TechEd

Company set to launch groundbreaking new GPAA product, founder Mar-Elia will be demonstrating these products at upcoming conference Expo.

Microsoft is holding its annual TechEd conference from June 3rd to June 6th in New Orleans, attended by approximately 10,000 IT professionals and developers every year. SDM Software, the worldwide leader in group policy management tools, will be exhibiting at conference (booth #2222), and Darren Mar-Elia, the company's founder and 10-time Microsoft Group Policy MVP, will be present in the booth, showing off the company extensive line of Group Policy management solutions, including the new Group Policy Auditing and Attestation product

Mar-Elia believes TechEd is the perfect venue to inform other industry professionals about their new product due to the conference's strong focus on Windows network administration. He will be at the SDM Software booth throughout the week to answer attendee questions about Group Policy management, SDM Software’s products and the future of configuration management on Windows.

“Group Policy is a key technology used by most IT shops to lock down and secure their Windows desktops and servers,” said Mar-Elia. “The GPAA application SDM has released will allow them to respond to and manage changes to Group Policy in a timely manner. Thousands of industry experts come to the TechEd conference every year which makes it the perfect place to raise awareness about this new product.”

SDM’s new application gives Windows administrators the ability to manage their Group Policy environment in ways that were previously difficult or impossible. For example, admins can use GPAA to receive timely updates on Group Policy changes, and ensure that they can retain strict control of the Group Policy Objects (GPOs) throughout their lifecycle, providing an industry-first Group Policy attestation feature. SDM’s new Group Policy auditing software has a number of new features Windows network administrators will find extremely useful:

- Capture audit events and send alerts on all changes related to Group Policy management, including GPO settings changes
- Create easy-to-read reports on all Group Policy management related changes
- Automatic backup of changed GPOs and the ability to rollback GPO changes through a web UI
- Ability to track ownership of and provide attestation for critical GPOs
- Audit trail for all GPO changes, GPO attestations and rollbacks
- Role-based management allows users to delegate which AD users and groups can perform which actions within the product

Mar-Elia gave a presentation at last year's TechEd entitled “Best Practices for Designing and Consolidating Group Policy for Performance and Security,” after which many industry experts and attendees commented that they were impressed with Mar-Elia’s presentation and looked forward to hearing from him again.

Mar-Elia said he is also looking forward to exhibiting at TechEd. He believes that the conference will be the perfect place to raise awareness about changes in the Group Policy environment and the applications SDM is developing to address them.
