Recent purchases include more than a million dollars in new paving equipment, with the company not only primed to handle its own paving and asphalt projects, but also to work in partnership on projects overseen by local and state governments.
“We always begin gearing up this time of year for the busy spring and summer seasons, and we’re preparing this year for another busy period,” says Jerry Hines, project manager for ASC Paving & Asphalt San Antonio. “We realize there are external issues this year that could have an impact on local economies in the short term, but we’re still hopeful for positive second and third quarters of the year in the San Antonio area.”
External issues alluded to by Hines refer to the coronavirus pandemic currently sweeping the United States, a situation that’s changing daily and causing a good deal of uncertainty and apprehension throughout the country.
ASC Paving has joined other local companies in pledging to keep its team of highly trained and professional staff members working and paid during these trying economic times.
“We haven’t seen a huge impact yet on our business, but we are preparing for that possibility in the coming weeks and months,” says Hines. We hope that by being prepared and planning ahead that we can keep our staff 100 percent intact during any short-term downturn.”
