-- In recognition of the upcoming festive season, Saint Germain Catering is announcing its support for Operation Homefront, a charity that helps service members and their families with food, repairs and help. For every catering order a customer places with Saint Germain Catering, it will donate $1 to the charity, and it will also assist with supplying proteins to those in need.
Operation Homefront offers substantial assistance to members of the military, their spouses and their children to help build strong, stable and secure military families. It divides its assistance into three categories: short-term, long-term and recurring support.
Its most critical assistance normally comprises food, utilities and rent, and in 2015, it supported 2,360 military families and fulfilled 5,986 emergency financial assistance requests. In addition, it placed 111 service members and 289 family members into rent-free transitional housing, including 206 children.
As part of its long-term support plan, it placed 92 families in mortgage-free homes to help save them $22.8 million in mortgage costs, and it supported 2,931 Hearts of Valor caregivers across 50 support groups.
Finally, it provided toys to 32,906 military children, provided 13,641 military family meals and helped 33,454 military children with school supplies. It also helped 52,533 people through a variety of other programs and services. With 92 percent of all funding going toward programs to help military families, it has had a four-star rating from Charity Navigator for the past nine years and holds an A rating from CharityWatch.
