-- Ruslan Averin publishes equity assessments on UPS and UnitedHealth Group
Independent financial analyst Ruslan Averin has published new equity assessments on United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS) and UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH). The reports identify a narrative-price disconnect in UPS and a structural recovery thesis in UNH, arguing that both stocks present opportunities overlooked by consensus.

UPS: Trading at 13.5x earnings amid narrative disconnect
UPS reported revenues of $21.2 billion in its most recent quarter and reaffirmed full-year guidance. At 13.5x forward earnings with a 6.8% dividend yield and $5.5 billion in adjusted free cash flow, Averin argues the stock is priced for permanent impairment that its fundamentals do not support. According to Averin, the market is conflating a cyclical volume trough with a structural breakdown.
“The Amazon displacement narrative is overstated. UPS has pricing power for enterprise and international accounts that Amazon's internal network cannot replicate. The upcoming earnings release is the next catalyst,” said Ruslan Averin.
UNH: 20%+ upside after governance discount
UNH recovered 47% from its lows earlier this year following adjusted earnings per share of $7.23 that beat analyst expectations. Bank of America recently upgraded the stock to Buy with a $450 price target. Morgan Stanley raised its target to $453. Averin places fair value at $486, suggesting meaningful upside from current levels.
“The governance layer and the business are separate things. $439 billion in revenue guidance, $17.7 billion in free cash flow, and the confirmed Medicare Advantage rate increase for next year remove the primary tail risk,” noted Ruslan Averin.
Options overlay
Averin identifies cash-secured puts 10–15% below current levels in both names as an entry mechanism, collecting meaningful premium while the thesis develops.
Broader market framework
Averin's broader market framework distinguishes between narrative risk and fundamental risk. In the current environment, he argues that both UPS and UNH represent cases where narrative deterioration has driven prices below intrinsic value, creating asymmetric opportunities for patient capital.
