-- ReloomVR, a New York immersive wedding videography studio, is highlighting immersive 360-degree wedding films as one of the trends shaping 2027 weddings. Designers quoted in Who What Wear’s July 2026 report on 2027 wedding trends describe a shift in luxury weddings away from spectacle and toward celebrations that grow out of one couple’s story. That shift extends to how the day is recorded. ReloomVR films weddings in 8K 360-degree video and delivers each finished film on a preloaded headset that is ready to play without setup.

Weddings Built Around a Story
The same Who What Wear report predicts that every choice in a 2027 wedding, from the invitation to the final song, will be tied to the couple’s story. Younger couples are pushing in the same direction. In Zola’s 2026 First Look Report, drawn from more than 11,500 couples marrying in 2026, Gen Z made up 51 percent of respondents for the first time, and the report points to the generation’s interest in visual storytelling.
Candid Coverage and Real-Time Content
Zola reports that candid, documentary-style photography has been voted “firmly in” for 2026, with couples prioritizing raw emotion over perfection.
Content creators are also gaining ground. A wedding content creator films candid, behind-the-scenes clips throughout the wedding weekend, made to be shared while the celebration is still under way. In Zola’s 2026 Wedding Spend Survey of more than 700 recently married couples, 21 percent hired a unique or niche vendor, and content creators were the most requested of those vendors, at 22 percent of unique vendor hires. Zola’s First Look Report found that 87 percent of couples had made a wedding planning choice based on something they saw on social media.
The Knot’s 2026 Real Weddings Study found that 37 percent of couples hired a videographer, and that Millennial and Gen Z couples spent more on video than Gen X couples.
Including Guests Who Cannot Attend
The average wedding welcomes 117 guests, according to The Knot, and at even the most carefully planned celebration, someone important may not be able to travel.
Several options exist for including absent loved ones, and each suits a different moment. A livestream of the ceremony lets a relative watch the vows live on a phone, laptop, or television during the wedding, which suits couples who want to share the ceremony in real time. Recorded video messages, made before the wedding, can be played at the reception to help absent loved ones feel part of the evening. A link to the finished highlight or full-length wedding film, sent in the weeks after the wedding, makes sharing easy with every guest. A virtual reality (VR) wedding film on a preloaded headset, also delivered weeks after the wedding, lets a relative look around the room as if seated in the front row, and it suits parents, grandparents, and close family. For livestreams, the connection should be tested with the venue well before the day.
What a VR Wedding Film Is
An immersive 360-degree wedding film, also called a VR wedding film, records the whole room at once and is watched in a VR headset, where the viewer can look in any direction. Couples can see parts of the day they missed while they were at its center, and family members who could not attend can see the room as guests did.
“Traditional videography decides what fits inside a flat, restricted frame,” said Manu Goffer, co-founder of ReloomVR. “We capture the entire environment, so when you replay your wedding in the headset, you control where to look.”

How ReloomVR Films a Wedding
Brothers Zvi and Manu Goffer founded ReloomVR after early work with Campus VR showed them how strongly people respond to being present inside a moment. On the wedding day, ReloomVR’s VR videographers and Aurabot, its proprietary mobile capture assistant, work alongside the couple’s photographer and cinematographer without directing anyone. The studio engineers its stabilization, framing, and editing to reduce the jerky movement that can cause motion sickness.
Films are edited into chapters with the sound of the room preserved. Coverage runs from seven hours to the full event, with packages starting at $7,500. A highlight cut is delivered about two weeks after the wedding, and the final film six to eight weeks after. Headsets arrive in cream or the studio’s signature orange, and extra headsets are available for family. The Legacy package, which the studio calls the heirloom edition of a wedding, includes five headsets so parents, grandparents, and relatives abroad can each have one. Every package includes link delivery of the full film.
Venues, Planners, and Service Area
ReloomVR has filmed celebrations at The Plaza New York, The Pierre New York, Gotham Hall, The Rockleigh, The Breakers Palm Beach, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Waldorf Astoria, and The Edition, and it works with planning firms including Mindy Weiss Party Consultants and Norma Cohen Productions. The studio has served couples in New York City, the Hamptons, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, and it travels to weddings anywhere in the United States and Canada, including San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Calgary.
“Working with Reloom VR has completely transformed how I preserve and share my clients’ most cherished experiences,” said an event designer and planner with Norma Cohen Productions in New York, who has more than 35 years of experience.
“It isn’t enough to just watch an event. Sometimes we want to relive it,” said a Las Vegas wedding planner who has worked with the studio.
Preserving the Film Over Time
The studio notes that an immersive film is a companion to a traditional wedding film. Couples who want a single short film to post online, or who prefer not to wear a headset, may be better served by a cinematic highlight film. Suggested practices for keeping any wedding film include saving the original full-resolution files in two places, asking each vendor which formats will be delivered and how long files stay hosted, and sharing access with parents and siblings so the film does not rest with one person.
Planning Timeline for 2027 Weddings
The Knot’s Real Weddings Study puts June and October in a tie as the most popular months to marry, at 16 percent of weddings each, with May close behind at 14 percent. Couples marrying in the spring and summer of 2027 are approaching the period when film teams are typically confirmed. ReloomVR offers a free 20-minute consultation, and examples of real weddings filmed by the studio are available on its wedding page.
