People Insight unveils 2025 Inspire™ HE rankings, recognising universities turning staff feedback into meaningful action and stronger employee experience.

-- People Insight has announced the 2025 Inspire™ HE rankings, recognising higher education institutions delivering standout employee experience and showing a clear commitment to listening to staff and acting on what they hear.

The 2025 rankings reflect results from universities and colleges that ran an employee survey in 2025. This year, institutions have been recognised across three groups: HEIs with more than 1,000 employees, HEIs with fewer than 1,000 employees and Most Improved employee experience.

This year’s recognised institutions include:

  • Liverpool John Moores University
  • University of Birmingham
  • Loughborough University
  • University of Oxford
  • Manchester Metropolitan University
  • Exeter College, Oxford
  • University of Sunderland
  • Royal Northern College of Music
  • University of Bath

A clear pattern runs through this year’s results. The universities and colleges that stand out are not simply those gathering feedback. They are the ones taking action planning seriously, following through and showing staff that employee voice matters. They treat surveys as part of how the institution listens, learns and improves.

That is what sets them apart. Employee feedback is taken seriously, action is visible and listening becomes a meaningful part of how the university operates.

Across all three groups, the strongest performers show the same core strength: they do not let feedback sit still. They use it to guide action, build trust and create meaningful improvement that staff can see. In the coming months, through People Insight, the HEIs will be sharing in-depth case studies revealing action they have taken to achieve remarkable employee experience.
