Over 170 Scientology Volunteer Ministers Awarded For Life Changing Volunteer Work

At a recent awards celebration held at the Castle Kyalami in Midrand, officials from various sectors across the country joined in thanking the Scientology Volunteer Ministers for their voluntary work in empowering communities.

At a recent awards celebration held at the Castle Kyalami in Midrand, officials from various sectors across the country joined in thanking the Scientology Volunteer Ministers for their voluntary work in empowering communities and creating sustainable livelihoods across South Africa. 

Those attending included Bishop Thabo Mapela, the national deputy president of the South African Christian Ministers Council (SACMIC), Reverend Shadrack Lekoana from the Uniting Reformed Church, Sonwabile Ndamase, the fashion legend who dressed Nelson Mandela, Social Development, Provincial Cogta, Joburg Emergency Service and more who converged to honor the Scientology Volunteer Ministers for their continued efforts in Skills Development. 

They came in numbers to recognize the group for their invaluable contributions as Scientology Volunteer Ministers. They were recognized for bringing help through education, spiritual values, disaster response actions, support, and giving hope to the people of South Africa.

The prestigious event began with the Chairperson of the Scientology Volunteer Minister, Mr. Sandile Hlayisi expressing his gratitude for the thousands of hours the volunteers have selflessly given to assist their fellow communities throughout the last year. Following the welcoming speeches, Officials from various sectors took to the stage to publicly recognize the Scientology Volunteer Ministers and Church of Scientology for the massive humanitarian impact made. 

First to give words of appreciation was Mr. Conrad Jardine, Director of Public Participation at the Gauteng Provincial Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs who spoke of the importance of volunteer work in building prosperous communities. 

The Johannesburg Emergency Services was next, represented by Mr. Mulaudzi, the spokesperson who reminisced on the hard work and collaborative partnership between the Scientology Volunteer Ministers and Emergency Services during the pandemic. 

Mr. Sonwabile Ndamase, the fashion legend who created the famous Madiba Shirt worn by Nelson Mandela, delivered the keynote address, during which he emphasized that the values imbued in and visible through the actions of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers, are a guiding light in society. 

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers dedicated over 800 days of service in the frontlines during covid and even helped with free decontamination, wellness education in Zulu, Sotho, Xhosa and free skills development to the entire country. Immediately after the restrictions were lifted, they embarked on a skills development program that has seen them train over 18,000 South Africans on various skills to help them tackle life, providing them with practical tools from L. Ron Hubbard called Tools for Life with which they can better control their life.

The majority of their work now consists of providing effective skills development workshops to thousands across the country in order to assist them in dealing with the losses suffered and very importantly – to rebuild for a better Mzansi and they do so with the same intent and dedication.
