Nuroe Launches Breakthrough Cognitive Training App That Rivals Traditional Schooling in Effectiveness

Share this news:

-- In a time when global attention spans are dropping and academic performance is in decline, a certain company is rising to meet the challenge.

Nuroe, a science-backed cognitive training app, is changing how children learn and focus—backed by over 25 years of neuroscience research and more than 120 peer-reviewed studies.

Developed by Swedish entrepreneur Hoa Ly and renowned neuroscientist Professor Torkel Klingberg of the Karolinska Institute and the Nobel Assembly, Nuroe isn’t another “edutainment” app.

It is a rigorous, evidence-based working memory training program that has been shown to deliver results comparable to a full academic year of traditional schooling.

“We’re not just improving test scores—we’re changing life trajectories,” said Professor Klingberg.
“Nuroe is the first app in this space to be research-published, not just research-based.”

A Scientific Breakthrough with Real-World Results

A landmark study published in the Journal of Political Economy—led by Professor Ernst Fehr of the University of Zürich and edited by Nobel laureate James Heckman—followed almost 600 children and found that those ages 6–7 who completed the Nuroe training protocol were 50% more likely to gain admission to academically rigorous schools three years later. The results were long-lasting and statistically significant.

Think of working memory as the brain’s processor, the core system for focus, reasoning, and learning. It’s what allows children to follow multi-step instructions, solve math problems, or read with understanding.

Designed for Real Families

The complete Nuroe program requires just 40 sessions of 15–20 minutes each, around 12 hours total, completed in 8–13 weeks, making it ideal for busy parents and school-aged children. The app is adaptive, developmentally tailored, and ensures optimal challenge.

“Focus isn’t discipline, it’s design,” said Ly. “We’ve created a tool that equips children for the future—not just to survive school, but to thrive in the digital and AI-driven era ahead.”

One teenage user shared: “Nuroe has helped me strengthen my focus to the point where I can resist addictive apps. Many of my friends want to leave these apps but feel stuck and unable to break the habit.”

A parent, Christian Falk Dahl, stated, “Nuroe truly distinguishes itself from other kids’ apps. I can almost see my daughter’s brain cells sweating. It presents challenges that she finds both stimulating and enjoyable.”

Featured in Global Conversations About the Future of Learning

With a growing reputation in both scientific and educational circles, Nuroe is gaining recognition as a catalyst for rethinking how schools, parents, and policymakers approach childhood learning. Its mission: to make neuroscience-backed cognitive training as fundamental as math or reading in every child’s education.

Unlike other apps in this space that focus on delivering more educational content, Nuroe is building stronger cognition, targeting anyone who wants to offer some positive screen time to their kids and help prepare them for school and for the future, to thrive and create in the new AI era.
