A graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology, Muskan is making her mark in the biotechnology industry. Originally from Kenya and now based in California, after leading efforts to optimize adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors for advanced therapies—work that has resulted in a patent in progress—she has transitioned her focus to developing an innovative drug for mitochondrial diseases.

She co-founded two nonprofit organizations in Kenya that provide cancer screenings, essential medical services, and learning resources to those in need. Her long-term goal is to scale these initiatives across Africa to support sustainable, community-led impact.
