In January 2024, SGTOX, the first all-encompassing asset token trading platform based in Singapore, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Li Kaiyang as its CEO. Mr. Li Kaiyang brings to the role 22 years of extensive experience in the financial industry, characterized by a profound understanding and exemplary performance in fund and asset management.
From 2017 to 2023, Mr. Li Kaiyang as the Executive Director and inaugural CEO of CMB International (China Merchants Bank International) in Singapore. During this period, he played a pivotal role in establishing the first International Business Office. His responsibilities included securing the CMS license from MAS, orchestrating the formation and organization of the entire team and system, pioneering new sales channels and partnerships, and overseeing multiple business teams, encompassing institutions, asset management, and wealth management.
Between 2014 and 2017, in his capacity as the Chief Investment Officer at RHB Asset Management Company in Singapore, Mr. Li Kaiyang doubled the number of investment products and strategies. He achieved notable success by entering new distribution channels in Europe, demonstrating outstanding investment performance.
From 2006 to 2014, as the Assistant Director at Baring, Mr. Li Kaiyang managed funds exceeding one billion US dollars. He co-launched and managed the Baring ASEAN Frontier Fund in Hong Kong, which swiftly became the best-performing and fastest-growing fund, ranking as the third-largest ASEAN fund in the market within less than five years.
During the period from 2000 to 2006, Mr. Li Kaiyang contributed to the field of wealth management and asset management at OUB and HSBC Bank (Singapore). His proven capabilities span different cultural contexts, including international settings (Baring/HSBC), China (CMB), and the ASEAN region (RHB).
Mr. Li Kaiyang, a graduate of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2000 and a CFA holder, held license number 1/4/9 in Hong Kong and is a licensed person of CMS-Fund Management in Singapore.
