Mother, Son Partner for Legacy Fit Franchise in Summerville, SC

Terri and Dominic Mariotti, mother and son, have announced the upcoming Legacy Fit franchise slated to open in Summerville, SC in mid-October, 2015.

The American core family has changed dramatically over recent decades. It's not at all uncommon to find single parents working their fingers to the bone to support a single income family. Such was the case for the Mariotti family.

With a toddler in one arm and a six-year old in the other, Terri Mariotti found herself, as a single mom, struggling to provide for her young family. Years later, the commitment and devotion to one another through the hard times resulted in relationships bound stronger than steel.

“There is no one on this planet that I would rather go into business with than one of my children,” Terri explained. “When my son, Dominic, approached me with the idea of buying a gym franchise, of course I'm not going to just jump right in, but after careful consideration, we started looking around and found the best gym in America.”

Legacy Fit, the number one boot camp style gym in Miami, Florida, was cited by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the top franchise opportunities in the country and caught the eye of the Mariotti partners.

“It's not just about physical fitness and working out,” offered Ms. Mariotti. “There is a spiritualism about Legacy Fit and 'No Days OFF'. My life has turned out how it is due to my faith in God and family so when we discovered the philosophy that Manning (Sumner) has developed for his gym and clientele, we knew we had found the right franchise.”

Written by Manning Sumner, founder and owner of Legacy Fit – Miami, the lifestyle guide, “No Days OFF” has developed into a nationwide movement, reaching levels of professional athletes and entertainers across the country.

“I looked at so many gyms that didn't have that something special,” explained Dominic Mariotti. “Not only was the Legacy Fit business plan just what we were looking for but 'No Days OFF' speaks directly about my own philosophy of life. Live life fully and be the best you can be, all the time. My mom taught me that a long time ago.”

By the time a young Dominic was 9 years old, his mother had already identified a natural athleticism in her son. He was encouraged to participate in organized sports with hockey quickly becoming his favorite. A collegiate roller hockey standout at Neumann University in Pennsylvania, Dominic was scouted and recruited to play in the EuroHockey League for Italy in 2010, winning the Championship that same year.

“Mom has always been my biggest fan,” explained Dominic. “She has pushed me to be the best I can be at everything all my life and she did it by example. The minute my sister and I were grown, she went back to school and got a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and English! Not a bad role model for success!”

Slated to open in early to mid-October, 2015, the Summerville location of Legacy Fit will offer the same intense fitness and bootcamp style programs offered in Miami. Success oriented and driven, the partners Mariotti seem the perfect fit for this franchise.

“Dominic and Terri know what they want and I believe they can get it,” Sumner offered. “I'm not one to go into things lightly. I didn't get where I am by tiptoeing through life and I can see the same kind of fire in the eyes of the Mariotti's.” The author, pro-trainer and entrepreneur grinned and added, “Get ready, Summerville.”
