Michael Caridi and MAJIC Development Group Launch Mentorship Program for First-Generation Real Estate Developers in New York

-- Michael Caridi, Chairman of MAJIC Development Group LLC, announced today the launch of a mentorship program designed to provide first-generation real estate developers in New York with direct access to industry experience, professional guidance, and project development resources.

The program, which will operate through MAJIC Development Group, is designed to address a gap Caridi has observed throughout his career in New York real estate: that access to experienced mentorship and professional networks remains one of the primary barriers to entry for aspiring developers who lack generational industry connections.

The initiative will pair participants with experienced development professionals for structured one-on-one mentorship focused on project identification, deal structuring, financing fundamentals, regulatory navigation, and community stakeholder engagement. Participants will also have access to case study reviews drawn from completed MAJIC projects across the New York metropolitan area.

The program will initially accept a cohort of ten participants, with selections made on the basis of demonstrated interest in real estate development, community ties, and professional readiness. Applications will be open to candidates across all five boroughs, with a focus on individuals from neighborhoods where MAJIC has been active, including upper Manhattan, the outer boroughs, and the broader tristate area.

"The developers who shaped New York over the last fifty years did not all start with the same advantages," said Caridi. "Some had capital. Some had connections. Some had neither. What they all had was someone who showed them how the business worked and gave them a chance to prove themselves. That is what this program is intended to provide."

Caridi noted that the mentorship initiative reflects a long-standing commitment to community investment that has run alongside his development work throughout his career. As Chairman of MAJIC Development Group, he has completed projects including the air rights acquisition and sale of Harlem Park in upper Manhattan, the rehabilitation of a 600-room hotel property on West 57th Street in Manhattan, and the construction of a 140-unit residential complex in Palisades Park, New Jersey. The City of New York previously recognized his community contributions by naming him Community Mayor of Harlem.

The program will also incorporate a series of group sessions covering topics including zoning and land use, construction management, capital markets, and community relations -- areas Caridi identifies as the practical knowledge gaps most commonly faced by developers entering the industry without established industry relationships.

MAJIC Development Group expects to open applications for the inaugural cohort before the end of the year, with the mentorship program formally launching in early 2027. Individuals interested in applying or in supporting the program as mentors or partners are encouraged to contact MAJIC Development Group directly.
