Miami Ad School Selected as the 2019 Future Lions School of the Year

The school beat out 444 others in the competition and is now the best advertising school in 2019, reports

Miami Ad School proudly announces they have been named the 2019 Future Lions School of the Year. The school beat out 444 other educational institutions to achieve this honor, making them the best advertising school in 2019. The Future Lions global student competition was created to find the next generation of talent. Individuals can read more about this contest to learn about what makes it so prestigious.

"Applicants this year were given a theme of "Break Through' as a method to reject inner barriers. Creativity is often destroyed by self-doubt, fears and the artist's own ego. However, these limits are only in the mind. Students were encouraged to try new things to bring about creative change," Pippa Seichrist, spokesperson for Miami Ad School, explains.

To earn the designation of Future Lions School of the Year, an educational institution must have the highest number of shortlisted entries. Miami Ad School is thrilled to find more than 30 percent of the shortlisted entries came from its students. The judges were impressed because the students found different ways to connect the target audience with a desired product or service offered by a global brand.

"The students distinguished themselves by using techniques and methods that were not possible three years ago. Three student projects won the Future Lions awards. Sarah Peen, an art direction student at our school, and Arendse Rohland, a Miami Ad School copywriting student, won for their Epilepsy Watch Out entry. The project works with the Apple Watch and detects seizures. When a seizure is detected, Siri providers bystanders with step-by-step instructions to help the individual having the seizure. The use of wearable technology to help individuals is one reason this entry stood out in the crowd," Seichrist continues.

Arendse and Sarah met at the Miami Ad School Hamburg. They benefited from the work-based learning programs offered through the campus and studied in multiple locations, including Copenhagen and Tokyo. While interning at BBDO in Vietnam, they partnered to create Epilepsy Watch Out. The program offered them the opportunity to do so while experiencing global insights, cultural trends and human truths that contributed to their amazing creation. More groundbreaking ideas are sure to come out of this and the many programs offered through Miami Ad School.

"The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and AKQA collaborate to sponsor this competition. The creative community VSCO and the tech magazine Wired are sponsors of the content also, showing many industries are looking for creative ways to market products and services. We are honored to have our students and our school recognized and hope to see more of our students enter the competition next year. This is why we employ the creative and practical approach to training that we do. We wish to make the world a better place for all. To learn more about our programs, click here," Seichrist states.
