-- David Riley has joined McWherter Scott & Bobbitt as an attorney in the firm’s Memphis office. Riley has more than 25 years of experience representing clients in complex civil disputes, including insurance companies in litigation and individuals in high-stakes cases against major corporations and industry defendants.
Before joining McWherter Scott & Bobbitt, Riley spent more than two decades practicing at another Memphis law firm. His work included advising insurance adjusters on claim strategy, evaluating coverage issues, trying cases to verdict, and leading seminars on claims handling, defense strategy, regulatory compliance and insurance coverage.

Riley’s practice will now focus on first party insurance disputes representing only policyholders.
He is a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation, an honor awarded by his peers and limited to less than 5% of Tennessee attorneys.
Riley earned a B.S. in accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee at Martin and his J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. He is admitted to practice before the Tennessee Supreme Court, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee and U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Riley is also a member of the American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association and Memphis and Shelby County Bar Association.
