Since joining Whirlpool in 2014, Mr. Reid has utilized nearly two decades of commercial business experience to rise through the ranks quickly. His strategic leadership has been crucial in making Home Depot one of Whirlpool's top vendors and crafting a robust distribution strategy for sustained growth. "I attribute my success to the support of my mother, my commitment to constant self-improvement and my ability to focus on the present rather than worrying about the future," Mr. Reid says.
Mr. Reid has driven organizational change at Whirlpool through his leadership of the African American Network, now known as the "FOCUS" Employee Resource Group (ERG). This initiative emphasizes systematic, process-driven change and aims to broaden understanding and appreciation of African American culture. "It's about doing what needs to be done and building it systematically," Mr. Reid notes. The FOCUS ERG has grown to nearly 400 members. It engages in activities that promote employee development and community involvement, such as workshops and collaborations with the Boys and Girls Club of Benton Harbor.
Mr. Reid is also attuned to emerging industry trends, such as the increasing popularity of in-home coffee creation and advancements in cleaning technology. "In-home coffee creation is gaining popularity as more people work from home," he shares. "Another trend is how to elevate cleaning to new levels."
Beyond Mr. Reid’s professional achievements, he strongly advocates education and professional development. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Southern University, a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University and certifications in salesforce implementation and Six Sigma Green Belt.
Mr. Reid is actively involved in community service, volunteering and donating to the United Way, and serves as the executive sponsor of the Whirlpool Young People Group. As he continues to pursue greater executive leadership roles, he remains committed to mentoring others, sharing his experiences to inspire future professionals. He emphasizes the importance of leading by example: "If you want impact for yourself, you must be the example. You have to be an example of what you want to happen to change the future."
