Adelbert “Chip” Marous, CEO and President of Marous Brothers Construction, has built an empire from the ground up. Founded in 1980 with his brother Scott, Chip turned a small carpentry business into a construction powerhouse. “We had a passion for hard work and dedication and put the pedal to the metal,” recalls Chip.
The Early Years
Raised by two dedicated and hardworking parents, Chip and Scott inherited a strong work ethic. In 1980, they were doing small home renovations and carpentry projects, but by 1983, they were successfully competing for multimillion-dollar, out-of-town projects. They got their big break when they met industry leader Tony Ranallo.
“We started to work together when Chip and Scott were in the field hanging doors,” says Ranallo, the firm’s first commercial client. “They’ve come a long way because they’ve done the work themselves. They’re hands-on people, giving them the control that makes them good at what they do.”
Today, Marous Brothers Construction has surpassed $3 billion in revenue and generates $300 million annually. The firm has completed work in 14 states, with 90% of its projects coming from repeat clients thanks to its exceptional customer service and craftsmanship. The six service groups include the Multi-Family Housing Group, Design/Build Group, Construction Management Group, Special Projects Group, and the two self-performing groups: the Carpentry and Interior Finishes Group and the Site Group.
