Manganese alloy also called as mangalloy is an alloy steel that contains approximately 13% manganese. They are made by alloying steel which has 0.8% to 1.25% carbon content along with 11% to 15% alloy content. Manganese alloys are unique non-magnetic steel displaying anti-wear properties, and they are highly resistant to abrasion and can achieve up to three times its surface hardness upon impact. Manganese alloys are usually used in surfaces critical flat steel products such as sheets and plates and few long steel products such as consumer appliances, pipes, and tubes for the oil and gas industry and rails among others.
