MadPipe Announces 10-Year Anniversary as Corporate Storytellers

MadPipe just announced its ten year anniversary in business. MadPipe designs, directs, and delivers education projects and marketing initiatives. MadPipe CEO Daniel DiGriz says, “The company’s earned reputation in this space comes from two things: aligning itself with the operational and business goals of client executives and finding the brand narrative that connects companies with their internal constituents and external clients, because it also channels their core motivations. We’ve been doing this for a decade, and this is our birthday celebration.”

DiGriz said in Forbes that he never used to celebrate company anniversaries. “I didn’t see the point; it was just marking time.” What shifted was the CEO realizing the fundamental “why” of the company. “Sure,” he says, “we were talking about corporate story, but almost sheepishly. It’s because I write fiction in my evening hours. I thought ‘I’ve got to keep that separate, so I don’t freak out our client base.” Once DiGriz realized there was no disparity between the story arcs he was building for fictional characters and the ones he was helping clients convey to their target audiences, “the lightbulb went neon. Not even LED, but thrillingly neon.” Looking back, the company now sees value in marking time as a recognition of achievement and “progress on the journey of brand self-discovery.”

The company recently announced The Corporate Story, a blog dedicated entirely to understanding what makes education programs and marketing programs effective through powerful storytelling and by telling stories in every post. But marking a decade is not just about branding, says DiGriz. “MadPipe has connected its clients with countless constituents who consume their services and programs. It has done so by helping them tell their story to an enthusiastic audience. That has given MadPipe a sense of mission: fill the world with stories–making companies, organizations, and brands the storytellers. We’ve also created work for an incredible number of individuals–that moves me. I cherish working with those teams. Ten years is just a start.”

Where does MadPipe go from here? “I’m going to enjoy it the only way I know how,” says the CEO. “I’m going to keep going!” The joy in this, he says, is the point. It outweighs any other purpose in celebrating. His final comment: “Happiness is bulletproof.”
