Life Enriching Communities (LEC) has combined with Columbus, OH-based The Wesley Communities (TWC) as of May 1st

-- LEC and TWC have been in discussions and planning over the past year regarding a full affiliation and as of May 1st, the appropriate documents have been signed. Both boards have approved the arrangement in which TWC becomes an affiliate of LEC reporting up through its organizational structure.

With the Life Enriching Communities and The Wesley Communities affiliation, 122-year-old Life Enriching Communities expands from three to six campuses. Like the existing LEC campuses, each TWC campus is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) providing all levels of living – independent living, assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing. Further, Wesley Hospice offers excellent hospice care services within the Wesley Communities and throughout the Central Ohio community at large.

The oldest TWC campus is Wesley Glen, which opened in 1969, in the Clintonville area of Columbus, Ohio. Wesley Ridge in Reynoldsburg was established in 1998 and Wesley Woods at New Albany opened in 2017.

“This certainly helps to achieve one of our strategic objectives to proactively grow our mission through affiliations and partnerships within the senior living sector,” says Scott McQuinn, President/CEO of LEC. “We strongly believe we are much better off together to take on the challenges of today and in the future.”

“We are very pleased and honored by this affiliation with LEC, and know the combined focus on our mission, vision and values will best serve the residents and associates who live and work at the Wesley Communities now, and for those who will live and work here for generations to come,” says Margaret R. Carmany, CEO of The Wesley Communities.

The newly combined organization of Life Enriching Communities serves over 2500 older adults in the greater Cincinnati area through the Twin Towers (College Hill) and Twin Lakes (Montgomery) senior living communities, in the greater Cleveland area through Concord Reserve (Westlake), and now in the greater Columbus area through the Wesley Glen, Wesley Ridge, and Wesley Woods senior living communities. All six of these communities offer accommodations for independent lifestyles, residential assisted living, memory support assisted living, rehabilitative therapies, and nursing care. The Life Enriching Communities Foundation and Confident Living, a continuing care-at-home program, are also important subsidiaries of LEC.

The organization employs more than 1,300 associates and will now have annual combined revenue greater than $120 million and assets of greater than $550 million.

Life Enriching Communities is affiliated with the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church and welcomes people of all faiths.
