Based in Vietnam, HS Footwear Co., initiates research and development efforts on Antistatic and ElectroStatic Discharge, or ESD safety shoes, positioning itself as a leader among safety footwear manufacturers.

Having partnered with some of the world’s leading shoe brands, HS Footwear Co. has established a reputation as a quality-focused manufacturer when it comes to safety shoes. Initiating research and development on Antistatic and ESD safety shoes reinforces the company’s commitment to its diverse client base.

“We are proud of the quality of the shoes that we produce,” said Roger Lin in an exclusive interview when asked about what differentiates HS Footwear from the competition.

Mr. Lin, HS Footwear’s Regional Sales Director for the North American markets, plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process for his clients. “I stay in the facilities to make sure everything goes smoothly throughout the production process. So, although I’m in sales, I follow up on every order for my clients closely from the beginning to the end.”

HS Footwear Co and Mr. Lin recognize that leading shoe brands continue to ask for increasing amounts of research on Antistatic and ESD safety shoes, two terms that are often confused and used interchangeably. With Antistatic safety shoes, the technical level of electrical resistance ranges from 0.1-1,000 MegaOhm, compared to ESD safety shoes with a lower resistance range of 0.1-100 MegaOhm.

There are three areas that HS Footwear points out as common misconceptions between Antistatic and ESD safety shoes. First, while Antistatic safety shoes reduce the potential for electrostatic discharge, ESD safety shoes effectively prevent it. Additionally, both Antistatic and ESD safety shoes protect against static shock through a grounding process and are ideal in industries where such discharge could cause damage, but they are not the same as EH-rated isolating safety shoes, which isolate the charge (i.e. there is no grounding). Finally, although both Antistatic and ESD safety shoes prevent the build-up of static electricity in the human body through grounding, and both are often used in the same industries, only ESD safety shoes guarantee protection against discharge.

Performing its own research and development on Antistatic and ESD safety shoes, HS Footwear draws on over 14 years of experience in the creation and manufacturing of safety shoes, highlighting the company's expertise in the industry.
