In an interview this week, Veliz said: "More people, who are not experts in estate planning, are turning to online services to draw up living trusts, but they may not be foolproof when scrutinized by a probate court."
The Founder of Ana M. Veliz, P.A. in Coral Gables, commented: "Even if filled out and notarized, all without consulting an estate planning attorney, people will incorrectly assume they have all their bases covered.’’
"This is true if a third party wants to contest the trust. In other words, some of the things considered when creating a living trust by an estate planning attorney may not be considered when a non-attorney drafts a living trust."
Estate planning is a field of practice represented by the legal community for a reason. Veliz added: "It is a field of expertise where professional attorneys have been trained in that niche.’’
